Churchs
Church brvnara in Malo Blaško is devoted to the birth of the Holly Virgin and after some sources dates back from the eighteen century, although some believe that it is much older. It is situated on one clearing, on the hill Osoje, deep in the oak forest, in a natural ambient that can rarely be seen or imagined. It was constructed of oak timber and boards and as such this old holly place presents a monument which is invaluable. Many stories and legends are related to this church.
Most often heard is the one which says that the church used to be at another spot, deeper in the forests and that it ‘flew’ one night to its present location. This legend proves the way in which Serbian people endured in these regions during the Turkish rule. It was forbidden to construct churches and holly premises at that time so that people would put previously prepared materials together making churches of wood. They would then tell the Turks that a church had flown itself to a place.

The old church is under the government protection today.
In the area of Laktaši Municipality one can find churches belonging to other religions. Catholic Church and the monastery of sisters Klanjateljica krvi Kristove (Monastery of Devotion to the Sacred Blood of Jesus) in Aleksandrovac, as well as the parish church of St. Franjo Asiški dating from 1883 in Mahovljani, are under state government protection. Today the monastery is a rehabilitation centre for drug addicts. They were built during the Austro Hungarian rule, when a lot of Germans and Italians were living here so that the church in Mahovljani is called the “Italian Church”.

Exceptional by its shape but also by the ambient it is surrounded by, is the Ukrainian church in the village Devetina on the south-eastern borders of the municipality. The church is surrounded by old oak trees among which one can find several monolith rocks for which people believed to have a healing affect so that people used to lie on them in order to heal the disease they were suffering from.
Delibašno selo village used to belong to Laktaši municipality up to the Second World War. One can reach the village by travelling through fascinating forest regions Slatina to Banja Luka. There is a famous trap monastery “Marija Zvijezda” (Mary the Star) built by traps, members of the monastery Traps (Notre Dame de la Traps) in France, who came here in 1869.
